Julie Foster - Artist

The role of the artist I now understood as that of revealing through the world-surfaces the implicit forms of the soul, and the great agent to assist the artist was the myth.

About Julie PDF  | Print |

Julie Foster was a Visual Arts teacher in various secondary schools for 22 years. Since leaving teaching she has continued to concentrate on a career as an artist and an interior designer.

Julie has participated in local and interstate art exhibitions and recently had a solo exhibition at The Brush Gallery in Wingham, on the mid north coast. She has also displayed works at various venues including exhibitions homes on the mid north coast.

Inspiration for creating these artworks comes from a wide variety of sources including cultural and environmental influences. Subject matter and style also varies from earlier representational works to more recent experimentation with colour and texture. These later works incorporate the use of mixed media and various objects to create a more tactile quality as well as representing mementos of experiences.
